We're recruiting for a AWS Solutions Architect on behalf of our client, an amazing global IT company with clients in the Financial services and investment industries.
This is a hybrid role in Toronto, Ontario requiring 3 days in office/ week.
Responsibilities
Design, architect, and implement AWS cloud-based payment platforms end to end.
Lead migration modernization of payment workloads from on Prem or legacy systems to AWS.
Build highly available, fault tolerant, multiAZ and multiregional architectures.
Collaborate with product, engineering, and security teams to define standards and best practices for cloud-native payment systems.
Troubleshooting skills for AWS services, distributed systems, and performance bottlenecks.
Apply data governance, compliance, and security best practices across AI and data services.
Use strong TypeScript and Python skills for IaC automation, scripting, and tooling."
Qualifications
Must Have 6-8 years in AWS Solutions Architect proven experience as an AWS Solution Architect with hands on delivery of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures in the payments FinTech domain.
Deep understanding of payment processing systems cards, etransfer, wallets, and online banking integrations.
Strong background in PCI DSS, encryption, tokenization, and fraud prevention frameworks.
Expertise in event-driven, microservices, and serverless architectures for real-time payment flows.
Proficiency with core AWS services EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront, DynamoDB, RDS, Aurora, Elastic ache, ECS, EKS, Step Functions.
Strong knowledge of security and compliance IAM, KMS, WAF, Shield, Secrets Manager, GDPR, multi-region HADR patterns.
Experience with integrating third-party payment providers, asynchronous processing, and real time fraud detection patterns.
Familiarity with enterprise messaging platforms Kafka, Kinesis, SNS, SQS.
Strong DevOps skills with Code Pipeline, Code Build, Cloud Formation Terraform, GitHub Actions, automated deployments.
Advanced observability skills using CloudWatch, XRay, ELK OpenSearch, Prometheus, Grafana.
