Role Overview
We are looking for a talented Assistant Management Accountant to join our growing team. In this client-facing role, you will work across multiple client engagements, providing high-quality management accounting services and financial insights that help our clients make better business decisions. You will be part of our operational finance team while also contributing to strategic finance initiatives, working closely with our Business Partners and CFOs. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and autonomy while being part of a collaborative and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare monthly management accounts from source data, financial reports, and variance analysis for a portfolio of clients across diverse sectors
• Support clients with accounts payable, receivables, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Deliver decision support analysis, translating financial data into actionable insights for client leadership teams
• Assist with professionalising finance processes for growing businesses, including implementing best-practice reporting frameworks
• Contribute to business transformation projects including ERP implementation support and automation of management information
• Support due diligence processes and financial analysis for clients undertaking M&A or fundraising activities
• Work collaboratively with our CFOs and Business Partners to deliver strategic finance support
• Build strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on day-to-day financial matters
• Identify opportunities to add value and improve client finance functions
• Mentor and support junior team members in their development
Essential Requirements
• Part-qualified or qualified accountant (AAT, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with relevant practical experience, or qualified by experience with a strong management accounting and analytical background
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a management accounting or analytical finance role
• Strong Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning knowledge to help in the application of solutions internally or for clients
• Strong management accounting experience, ideally gained in practice, consultancy, or across multiple business environments
• Good technical knowledge of UK GAAP with practical application experience
• Advanced Excel skills and strong financial modelling capabilities
• Experience with cloud-based accounting systems (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and ability to adapt quickly to new platforms
• Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to distil complex financial information into clear, actionable insights
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable engaging with clients at all levels including founders and C-suite executives
• Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously while maintaining high standards
• Self-motivated and proactive, with the discipline to work effectively in a remote environment
Desirable Skills
• Experience working with high-growth businesses, startups, or scale-ups
• Knowledge of SaaS metrics, e-commerce analytics, or sector-specific KPIs
• Experience with business intelligence and data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
• Exposure to ERP implementation or finance transformation projects
• Understanding of fundraising processes, investor reporting, or due diligence
• Experience in a client-facing consultancy or outsourced finance environment
