Permanent position (six-month, fixed-term contract which will lead to a permanent position upon satisfactory completion)
Woking, Surrey - Hybrid/Virtual (depending on candidate location)
Salary: £28-31K (depending on experience)

Social media & marketing professional required for a dynamic conference company

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, creative, highly motivated and analytical marketing professional to join our busy team. We work closely with the UK and other Governments and leading organisations on our events. We organise big international summits, highly topical conferences as well as smaller industry seminars, which makes the role interesting and varied. 

About the role

This hands-on role covers implementing integrated multi-channel marketing campaigns (email, social media etc.) to boost attendance and engagement. We value individuals who bring ideas, energy and a 'can do' approach to drive projects through to timely completion.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in social media and digital marketing, with an eye for detail and an ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. You will be a strong team player, working cross-functionally with our production, marketing and operations teams as well as our external partners, to deliver impactful marketing campaigns for our events. You will be expected to have a good undergraduate degree and, preferably, a social media or marketing qualification.

Responsibilities will include:

Social Media & Promotional Content

Create and publish regular promotional content on the company LinkedIn account
Design speaker promotional assets (“speaker cards”) and coordinate posting via speakers’ personal and corporate accounts
Provide sponsors and supporting organisations with tailored social media content and encourage active promotion
Deliver live LinkedIn coverage during events (ideally in-person or virtual if need to be)

Campaign Strategy & Execution

Plan and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns for each event, working closely with the management team
Create and manage email marketing campaigns via CRM
Identify and secure supporting associations to promote events to their members
Liaise with sponsor marketing teams to amplify event visibility

Speaker Marketing & Interview Content

Approach key speakers to secure pre-event interviews to be circulated on social media and via email
Arrange and facilitate virtual speaker interviews (typically conducted by the CEO of City & Financial Global)
Edit interview recordings and produce AI-generated transcripts
Upload post-event recordings and produce AI-generated transcripts

Reporting & Performance Analysis

Analyse campaign performance (email metrics, Google Analytics, sponsor/supporter activity, discount codes, etc.)
Produce weekly event-specific performance reports for the management team
