We’re partnering with a YC-backed startup modernizing a legacy industry with real-time infrastructure. They’re building the backend systems that power high-volume transactions and critical workflows across marketplaces.

About the Role

This is an early-career backend role for someone who wants real responsibility from day one.

You’ll help design and build production backend systems, APIs, and services that operate at scale. You won’t be siloed. You’ll ship code, own systems, and learn fast.

This is an in-person team in Dumbo. They move quickly and care about shipping.

What You’ll Do

Build backend services primarily in Python
Develop and maintain REST APIs
Contribute to system design and performance improvements
Ship production features in a fast-moving environment
Work closely with founders and senior engineers

What We’re Looking For

1-2 years of experience as a software engineer
Experience working in a startup environment
Degree in Computer Science or an adjacent field
Strong backend fundamentals and comfort with Python
Solid understanding of APIs, databases, and system design basics
NYC-based and excited to work onsite
High autonomy, strong work ethic, and bias toward action
