**Job title**
Business Analyst – Oil Trading
**Role Summary**
Act as a primary liaison among trading, operations, risk, and IT teams to define and refine requirements for a transformation initiative in physical oil trading. Provide detailed process mapping, ensure alignment across the trade lifecycle, and drive project delivery, leveraging hands‑on experience with Amphora Symphony.
**Expectations**
- Deliver clear, actionable requirements for trade and logistics processes.
- Enable smooth integration of front‑to‑back trading functions, ensuring risk and operational controls are met.
- Maintain high‑level stakeholder engagement, providing concise updates and recommendations.
- Demonstrate independence and efficiency in a fast‑moving environment.
- Attend office 3 days per week, remaining responsive to on‑site needs.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Gather, analyze, and document functional and technical requirements for physical oil trading systems.
2. Map end‑to‑end trade processes, identifying gaps, inefficiencies, and risks.
3. Design process improvement recommendations and collaborate with IT to scope solutions within the Amphora Symphony platform.
4. Validate system configurations against business needs and facilitate user acceptance testing.
5. Maintain project artefacts, including change logs, issue trackers, and status reports.
6. Partner with trading, operations, and risk teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
7. Act as a subject‑matter expert on physical oil logistics, scheduling, and delivery within the trading context.
**Required Skills**
- Proven Business Analysis experience in physical oil or broader physical commodities.
- In‑depth knowledge of the trade lifecycle, logistics, scheduling, risk management, and operational workflows.
- Direct, hands‑on experience with Amphora Symphony (configuration, data modelling, workflow design).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.
- Ability to distill complex information, cut through noise, and influence senior stakeholders.
- Effective communication and facilitation across cross‑functional teams.
- Capacity to work independently and manage conflicting priorities.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Business Analysis certification (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) a plus, though not mandatory.
- Familiarity with the Professional Standards of the Association of Business Professionals and the fundamentals of oil trading regulations.
