Job Description

RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary

The incumbent will support a knowledge translation project entitled “A Knowledge Translation Initiative to Describe Nursing Practices in Difficult PIVC Insertions and Inform Implementation of the Adult DIVA Clinical Pathway on an Internal Medicine Unit”. The incumbent will report to the principle investigator, Sonia Castiglione, RN, PhD who is supporting the project leads, Carissa Wong, RN, MScA and Katherine Mohsen, RN, MScA.

Key responsibilities of the incumbent will mainly include administrative tasks that support the implementation and coordination of the project.

General Duties

Support data collection, management and analysis,
Conduct a search for literature and summarize,
Contribute to the preparation of dissemination products. This can include manuscript writing, or creating conference presentations (poster or oral),
Participate in the development and delivery of learning opportunities for clinicians,
Conduct or review translation of clinician-facing documents.

Education / Experience

Education: Diplome of College Studies (DEC)

Field of study: Health-related field

Other education considered an asset for this position: Bachelor's or Master's degree in progress

Work experience: 0 to 6 months

Required Skills

Works with general supervision, follows established policies and procedures,
Prioritizes work, meets deadlines,
Good organizational and communication skills,
Good judgment is shown in advising the research mentor and/or delegate of unusual situations or issues,
Experience in completing literature reviews and synthesizing information, or willing to learn,
Excellent knowledge of computer applications such as Outlook, Microsoft Office tools and survey tools,
Excellent knowledge of Endnote and Zotero, or willing to learn.
Advanced knowledge of oral and written French is required.
An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required, as the position requires regular and complex contact with researchers or international students who are exclusively proficient in English. The position also requires complex writing or in-depth analysis of documents in English related to a research project.

Additional information

Status : Temporary Part-Time: 5 to 7 hours per week

Pay Scale: $19.22-$28.82/h. Commensurate with education and work experience.

Work Shift: Variable schedule

Work Site: Glen Site, 1001 Decarie Blvd.

This position offers the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement (on-site and remote).
