Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Quality/Test Engineer 2 – DSS. The work will be done onsite full-time in Peoria, IL. This is a long-term 24-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $40/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).

Job Summary

Cullerton Group is seeking a Quality/Test Engineer to support advanced mining technology solutions with a focus on product validation, troubleshooting, and continuous product improvement initiatives. This role plays a key part in enhancing overall product quality and customer experience by investigating technical issues, supporting new product introduction (NPI) efforts, and driving continuous product improvement (CPI) processes. The engineer will collaborate with global teams to evaluate defects, support production systems, and provide advanced customer support for complex software and hardware configurations in industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) processes for technology offerings

• Evaluate defects in production products and lead root cause analysis efforts

• Provide advanced technical support to external customers and internal teams

• Conduct product validation, troubleshooting, and diagnostic analysis of technical issues

• Audit and optimize customer software and hardware configurations to enhance system performance

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Associate’s degree accepted with additional relevant experience)

• 3–5 years of experience in product support, NPI, CPI, or technical service engineering roles

• Experience supporting technology in industrial or production environments

• Experience with Azure, Linux, SQL Server, and TCP/IP networking

• Ability to read and interpret technical schematics

• Strong customer focus, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Project management experience

• Field support experience in mining or heavy industrial environments

• Experience with data gathering and analysis tools and techniques

• Familiarity with hardware/software system validation and defect investigation processes
