Overview

**MUST BE Local in Michigan to be qualified for this position.

Our client is building custom software using Abacus.ai (or similar) and LLMs to create custom software aligned to their business. There are several software types being built including a CRM system as priority 1. We’re looking for a hands-on builder who can take ideas and rough specs and turn them into working software quickly—integrations, workflows, and usable interfaces.

This is a 3–6 month assignment, part-time, with the opportunity to extend based on results.

Location Requirement

Must be local to Metro Detroit, Michigan
Must be available for occasional in-person sessions (as needed)
Primarily a remote position however there will be some in person meetings required so must be local SE Michigan area.

Must-Have Experience

Direct experience using Abacus.ai OR similar to build solutions (projects, freelance work, self-taught builds, or full-time employment all count)
Direct experience building with LLMs (prompting + structured outputs + evaluation/iteration)
Proven ability to create custom software or automations end-to-end (not just “prompt engineering”)

Responsibilities

Build custom internal tools using Abacus.ai or similar + LLM workflows
Translate rough requirements into:
workflow diagrams / steps
data inputs/outputs
clear “definition of done”
Connect third-party services via APIs/webhooks (ATS/CRM, email/SMS tools, databases, etc.)
Implement LLM-driven features such as:
scoring/ranking
summaries/extractions
structured decisioning
automated outreach sequences
Add reliability features: error handling, logging, retries, and basic monitoring
Document setups so tools are maintainable and repeatable for future projects
Demo progress weekly and ship in small, frequent releases

Nice-to-Have Skills

Retool / n8n / Zapier / Make
Basic full-stack capability (light UI + database + auth concepts)
Twilio/telephony experience (if we expand into voice workflows)
Experience integrating with ATS/CRM systems (Bullhorn a plus)
Familiarity with data privacy/security best practices for candidate/customer data

Assignment Details

Duration: 3–6 months
Hours: Part-time (flexible, but consistent weekly availability required)
Start: ASAP
Work style: Remote with occasional in-person collaboration (Metro Detroit)

Deliverables / What Success Looks Like

Working MVP tools shipped quickly (1–2 weeks per tool depending on complexity)
Integrations that are stable and well-documented
LLM outputs that are consistent and testable (clear evaluation approach)
A repeatable “build process” so we can keep replacing subscription software efficiently
