Head of AI Enablement & Business Systems Transformation
London | Hybrid
£120,000 to £150,000 base (flex for exceptional)
My client is a PE-backed, mid-sized, international marketing services group. They operate in a busy, delivery-led environment with lots of stakeholders and a high bar on pace. They’ve invested in core platforms, ERP and AI tools and now need someone senior to make that investment pay off.
This is a role for someone who likes urgency, is happy running multiple moving parts, and can turn “tools” into behaviour change.
You’ll lead AI enablement across the business and oversee the transformation of ERP and wider business systems. The focus is outcomes: adoption, standardisation, operational discipline, and measurable value.
What you’ll be responsible for
AI enablement and adoption
Drive practical AI adoption across teams: training, usage patterns, playbooks, comms, and day-to-day workflow changes
Set sensible guardrails so teams can move fast without creating risk (data handling, approvals, access, safe usage)
Build a pipeline of AI and automation use cases, prioritise ruthlessly, and deliver the highest-impact items first
Work closely with IT/security and external partners to ensure implementations are safe and scalable
ERP and business systems transformation
Own the improvement roadmap for ERP and core back-office platforms across finance/ops and people/talent
Improve how consistently systems are used across teams and regions, so reporting, data quality and operational speed improve
Translate business pain into clear requirements and oversee delivery through internal teams and vendors
Bring discipline to release planning, change control, and stakeholder comms so systems stay stable while evolving
Delivery rhythm, governance and value
Run a portfolio of work rather than a single programme: prioritisation, dependencies, risks, resourcing and decision-making
Create a simple governance model that prevents drift without slowing delivery
Put in place straightforward tracking so leadership can see what’s happening and what value is being delivered
Support integration and operational improvement initiatives when required (including work linked to acquisitions)
What success looks like (first 12 months)
AI is used widely and sensibly, with clear examples of time saved, cycle times reduced, quality improved
A simple view of adoption and value exists that leadership trusts
ERP and core platforms have a clear, owned roadmap and teams follow it
Delivery has pace again: fewer stalled initiatives, more visible outcomes
Background
Senior experience driving technology-enabled change in a mid-sized, client-facing services environment, ideally PE-backed, consultancy or agency style
Strong programme/portfolio delivery experience with multiple workstreams running at once
Solid exposure to ERP and operational processes (you don’t need to be a Sage specialist)
Comfortable managing vendors and holding people to account on delivery
Commercial mindset: you can talk about ROI, utilisation, margin, productivity and value in plain English
Style that works here
Hands-on, practical, and calm under pressure
Comfortable pushing back and making decisions
Collaborative, but not afraid to impose structure
Focused on outcomes over activity
