The Role
We are looking for an experienced Content Designer to support Digital Channels programmes within the public sector. You will work across services including Report a Change Once (RACO), Customer Account, and the Government App & Wallet, helping design and improve content for citizens, applicants, and developers.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary Agile teams to understand user needs, redesign content structures, and deliver accessible, high-quality content aligned to GDS standards.
Key Responsibilities
Review and benchmark existing content against GDS and accessibility standards
Map user journeys and validate them with stakeholders
Design clear, concise, and user-centred content
Test and iterate content using user research and feedback
Work closely with product, design, and development teams
Support the development of content strategy, standards, and governance
Deliver a structured handover to internal teams
Skills & Experience
Essential
Proven experience as a Content Designer in digital, multidisciplinary teams
Strong knowledge of GDS and GOV.UK content standards
Experience using user research to inform content decisions
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Experience working in Agile environments
Desirable
Experience with CMS and version control tools
Public sector or regulated environment experience
