Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior / Lead Java Backend Developer with 13+ years of experience in designing and building scalable backend systems. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, and Apache Kafka streaming (minimum 5 years). The candidate will lead backend development, design distributed systems, and mentor development teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop highly scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
Architect and implement microservices-based applications.
Develop and maintain event-driven systems using Apache Kafka.
Build Kafka producers, consumers, and streaming pipelines for real-time data processing.
Lead technical design discussions and provide architecture guidance.
Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
Collaborate with DevOps, QA, and frontend teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews.
Implement CI/CD pipelines and maintain best development practices.
Work closely with stakeholders to gather technical requirements.

Required Skills

13+ years of experience in Java Backend Development
Strong expertise in Java 8/11/17
Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud
5+ years of experience with Apache Kafka (Kafka Streams, Producers, Consumers)
Experience with Microservices Architecture
Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs
Experience with SQL / NoSQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, Maven, Gradle)
Strong understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architecture

Nice to Have

Experience with AWS / Azure / GCP Cloud Platforms
Knowledge of Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams, Schema Registry
Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)
Experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies
