Mission Overview
The DevOps OpenStack Expert supports the design, development, automation, and continuous improvement of SG’s private cloud platforms based on OpenStack. The role focuses on operating and enhancing OpenStack infrastructure, automation pipelines, and cloud services while supporting transformation initiatives toward API‑driven and Continuous Delivery models. The engineer contributes to sprint‑based delivery, documentation, testing, and platform reliability. The mission spans on‑premise cloud engineering, automation, CI/CD support, and collaborative work with Cloud Feature Teams.
Responsibilities
Develop, deploy, administer, and maintain OpenStack‑based infrastructure services (Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Glance, Cinder, Heat, Ceph, Kolla‑ansible).
Contribute to automation, CI/CD, and platform improvements using scripting and DevOps practices.
Participate in sprint activities: coding, code reviews, retrospectives, adherence to standards.
Support infrastructure operations, including troubleshooting, optimization, and root‑cause analysis.
Provide documentation and contribute to architectural studies and platform evolutions.
Collaborate with cloud, platform, and automation teams to deliver highly reliable infrastructure.
Mandatory Skills
Strong expertise in OpenStack architecture, operations, and components (Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, Keystone, Heat, Ceph, Kolla‑ansible).
Linux (RHEL) administration and system‑level troubleshooting.
Scripting & development: Shell, Python, Perl, PHP.
CI/CD, Git, GitHub.
Docker, Kubernetes, containers, and orchestration.
Strong knowledge of virtualization (KVM), storage systems, and networking fundamentals.
Experience with open-source ecosystems and infrastructure automation tools (Puppet / Ansible / AWX).
Familiarity with RabbitMQ, Satellite, and RedHat tooling.
Additional Skills
Experience operating large‑scale private cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
Knowledge of observability (ElasticSearch/Kibana) and infrastructure monitoring.
Experience with performance and reliability engineering.
Strong capability in analyzing complex production incidents.
Exposure to financial‑sector or regulated environments.
Specific Requirements
On‑site presence: typically 50% (some roles require up to 80%).
Ability to work in iterative Agile/Scrum delivery with Feature Teams.
Strong autonomy in complex infrastructure environments.
Ability to document, share knowledge, and transfer competencies.
No business travel required.
