Job Specifications

We are engaging a Data Scientist to deliver specialist data science and machine learning services as part of the Golden Phoenix AI programme within a trading environment. The engagement focuses on designing and implementing LLM-enabled analytics and decision-support solutions aligned to defined project deliverables.

This role is suited to a mid–senior Data Scientist operating in a consultative, outcome-driven capacity, rather than a business-as-usual position.

Scope of Services / Deliverables

Design and implement machine learning models to support trading analytics and AI initiatives
Develop LLM-based solutions, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines for internal knowledge and data access
Deliver end-to-end data science components from exploration through to production-ready outputs
Work with structured and unstructured datasets relevant to trading and market analysis
Provide technical input into model evaluation, validation, and performance optimization
Collaborate with platform and engineering teams to integrate solutions into existing systems
Produce clear technical documentation aligned to project milestones

Required Expertise

Proven commercial experience delivering Data Science and Machine Learning solutions
Hands-on experience with LLMs and GenAI tooling (e.g. OpenAI / Azure OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain, LlamaIndex)
Practical experience building RAG architectures, embeddings, and vector-based retrieval
Strong Python skills and familiarity with standard DS/ML libraries
Experience delivering work in project-based or consulting environments
Ability to operate independently against agreed deliverables

Desirable Experience

Exposure to trading, financial markets, or risk/analytics environments
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Familiarity with MLOps and model deployment practices
Experience with vector databases (FAISS, Pinecone, Weaviate, etc.)
