Overview
The IT Project Manager will lead the planning, delivery and execution of complex technology projects, ensuring all requirements are met in line with business objectives, internal policies, regulatory standards, and best-practice methodologies. This role combines strong delivery leadership with excellent communication, problem-solving capability and the ability to operate independently within a small, high-performing team. The ideal candidate will bring experience in commercial insurance environments, technology change, and SaaS/third-party integrations.
Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex IT projects, ensuring clear definition of scope, timelines, costs, and deliverables.
Apply established project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and best practices to ensure controlled and predictable project execution.
Proactively drive delivery outcomes, using initiative to resolve blockers, manage dependencies, and ensure timely progress.
Engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels, including technical SMEs, business leaders, and third-party vendors.
Produce high-quality written communication, including project reports, status updates, RAID logs, and option papers.
Use Confluence and JIRA effectively for project documentation, workflow management, sprint planning, and reporting.
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.
Support IT change delivery within a SaaS/third-party technology environment and demonstrate knowledge of commercial insurance processes.
Essential Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience delivering complex IT projects within a structured PM framework.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with clear, confident and articulate communication (written and verbal).
Experience working with third-party technology providers or SaaS-based environments.
Strong ability to work autonomously, use initiative and drive delivery in a small team environment.
Proficiency with JIRA and Confluence.
Strong analytical skills with effective problem-solving capabilities.
Experience in commercial insurance, particularly with complex or multinational business lines.
Understanding of IT change governance, integration projects, and vendor management.
Experience mentoring or supporting more junior team members.
