• Expertise in Agile Process and should have worked on a large utilities project as a Scrum Master

• Planning, prioritising, managing, and executing analysis work with a delivery team to regularly achieve cost and timescale targets

Job Description

• The role of the Product Analyst is to support the Product Owner and delivery teams by translating customer needs into high-level technical specifications, designing, and developing recommended systems.

• Candidate needs to collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders to successfully design, develop, and support new technologies and products to deliver business outcomes in an agile environment as part of a team.

• SSE IT is building its Agile capability and continues to increase the proportion of its delivery using Agile methodology and tools. As a result, it is desirable for role holders to have Agile experience and demonstrate an interest in championing it across the business.

Key Accountabilities

• Supporting the Product Owner to clarify requirements, plan implementation, and answer queries through the development process.

• Delivering product backlog items across the end-to-end product in an agile environment; delivery work may include representing and modelling data and information, developing training materials, and supporting the definition of lean business cases.

• Working collaboratively and developing relationships with business users at different levels of the organisation to document requirements and solution specifications.

• Assessing impacts or designing business processes to accommodate the use of the solution.

• Undertaking analysis tasks under the leadership of a Product Owner.

• Planning, prioritising, managing, and executing analysis work with a delivery team to regularly achieve cost and timescale targets.

• Working alongside the Product Owner with the business to understand and prioritise conflicting needs.

• Contributing to the execution of user system testing and to the test plan for large releases.

• Undertaking personal responsibility for IT data security by ensuring that rules and practices are identified.

• Presenting business and technical concepts to process owners and business users.

• Identifying and assessing business and IT risks.

• Preparing succinct reports and communications tailored to different situations and audiences.

• Representing and modelling data and information.

• Carrying out in-depth scoping exercises during the early stages of a work package to identify key issues of concern and ascertain clear direction.

• Helping protect SSE from cyberattacks and data loss by following standards and instructions and reporting risks and incidents.
