Senior Platform Engineer / Senior Manager – Kubernetes (EKS) Product Lead

London | Hybrid 3 Days in Office

Up to £120k + £19k Bonus, 15% Pension, 30 Days Holiday, Full Family HC +

Global FS Organization

Hands-on senior engineer responsible for designing, operating, and evolving production Kubernetes platforms on AWS EKS. Owns platform epics end-to-end and provides technical direction across a shared backlog. This is a senior individual contributor role, not a people-management post.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate enterprise-scale Kubernetes (EKS) clusters
Own cluster lifecycle: upgrades, security, networking, multi-cluster strategy
Deliver GitOps-based deployments (ArgoCD / Flux)
Build and manage Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform
Operate and improve platform reliability and production support
Partner with application, security, and architecture teams
Provide technical leadership through design reviews, pairing, and mentoring

Required Experience

Deep, hands-on Kubernetes production experience (EKS strongly preferred)
Strong knowledge of K8s networking, security, and multi-tenancy
Proven experience with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines
GitOps delivery experience (ArgoCD / Flux)
Strong AWS background (Azure/GCP a plus)
Solid networking fundamentals (VPC, CIDR, routing, firewalls, DNS)
Confident with Linux CLI, Bash, and Python

Nice to Have

CNCF tooling: Cilium, Kyverno, Karpenter, Helm, Prometheus
Internal Developer Platform / self-service platform experience
Multi-cluster or hybrid cloud environments
