Senior Full Stack Software Engineer

Rate: $70-75/hr on W2

Location: Orlando, FL (Remote role)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer with deep expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and GraphQL to support the SPOG (Single Point of Guest) platform—an enterprise-scale application used across global hospitality properties. The platform consolidates multiple legacy systems into a unified interface enabling associates to manage guest check-ins/check-outs, guest requests, real-time property insights, and loyalty program enrollment.

This role focuses heavily on system design, platform scalability, backend performance optimization, and large-scale refactoring rather than purely feature development. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with existing enterprise systems, improving their performance and stability while supporting modernization and architectural evolution.

Key Responsibilities

System Design & Full Stack Engineering

Design, develop, and refactor enterprise-level core services supporting the SPOG platform.
Work across frontend and backend layers, with a strong emphasis on Node.js, TypeScript, and GraphQL-based services.
Participate in system architecture discussions, scalability planning, and platform modernization initiatives.
Implement and maintain GraphQL APIs using Apollo Federation and subgraph architecture.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable, maintainable distributed systems.

Performance Optimization & Platform Stability

Lead initiatives focused on application performance improvements and system scalability.
Diagnose and resolve database spikes, TPS/throughput issues, and system bottlenecks impacting platform performance.
Perform large-scale code refactoring and architectural improvements to enhance maintainability and efficiency.
Partner with performance engineering teams and dedicated performance testers to identify and remediate production bottlenecks.

Migration & Modernization

Support service migrations and legacy system modernization efforts.
Improve service observability, reliability, and performance within a rapidly scaling enterprise environment.

Agile Collaboration

Work within Agile sprint cycles and participate in:
Core engineering stand-ups
Performance-focused SPOG stand-ups
Collaborate with:
Backend and frontend engineers
Performance engineering teams
Enterprise stakeholders and platform architects

Required Experience

8+ years of full-stack software engineering experience
Extensive experience with Node.js or React ecosystems
Proven experience building GraphQL-based backend services
Experience working on large-scale enterprise applications
Strong background in system performance tuning, scalability improvements, and refactoring legacy systems
Demonstrated ability to work independently and own complex technical initiatives
