IT Infrastructure Manager
FirstBank UK is a globally recognised, top-tier bank who provide world-class services to various institutions and individuals. Offering a comprehensive range of retail and corporate financial services/products, this thriving business with over 10 million active customers in over 700 business locations is the oldest African bank in the UK. Due to business requirements, we are now looking to acquire the services of an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager/Engineer.
Please note that this is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
Key Responsibilities:
The role of the IT infrastructure Manager is to ensure 99.9% high availability of all FirstBank Systems and networks, as businesses are increasingly reliant on technology. The role is crucial to FirstBank’s business continuity and operational resilience plan.
The role will advise the CTO on technology and security implementations, process reengineering and cybersecurity best practices and solutioning that will enhance current practices and assist the organisation to perform efficiently and remain secure.
As IT infrastructure Manager you would be expected to perform full technical support to all FirstBank core infrastructures and provide technical assistance to users on a range of systems and business applications.
Support and manage banking applications, servers, networks, voice systems, and security devices
Ensure operational integrity and uptime across all IT services
Monitor and analyse system performance, proactively resolving issues
Maintain and enhance IT infrastructure to support new business initiatives
Lead infrastructure and operational IT initiatives while balancing resource constraints
Conduct capacity planning to ensure short and long-term system availability
Provide oversight of IT infrastructure and cyber security controls
Manage internal and external network security systems to defend against intrusion and misuse
Analyse and mitigate security vulnerabilities (firewalls, AV, DLP, patching, encryption, intrusion detection)
Contribute to Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning, testing and implementation
Assist with IT audits and document information security risks
Review infrastructure designs for IT projects
Provide leadership and day-to-day supervision of IT Technical Support Analysts
Collaborate with the CTO to align technology capability with business strategy
Key Skills/Experience:
Essential Experience
Several years’ experience supporting IT systems and network infrastructure in Financial Services (preferably banking)
Experience designing, building, deploying and maintaining secure IT environments
Broad technical exposure across Infrastructure, Networking, Security, Databases, Applications and Azure
Experience ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards
