Job Title: Software Engineer – Managed Services
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Location: Hybrid – Austin, TX
Salary Range: $75-$95 an hour
Job Description:
As a member of the Managed Services engineering team for one of our clients, you will contribute to the development of innovative solutions that detect, analyze, investigate, and remediate threats at scale.
You’ll help build modern, AI‑integrated automation systems designed to enhance platform capabilities and empower security analysts to deliver exceptional outcomes.
In this role, you will:
Design and implement new product features and enhancements
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to solve real‑world cybersecurity and operational challenges
Build reliable, performant systems capable of scaling as the organization grows
Improve observability and proactively resolve system issues
Develop automation to reduce operational load and improve productivity
Participate in an on‑call rotation to support high‑quality 24/7 operations
What You’ll Need
Professional experience with Golang, Python, JavaScript, C++, or Java, and willingness to work with Golang
Experience working within existing architectures and software constraints
Hands‑on experience building web services and data pipelines at scale
Experience with microservices architectures
Operational knowledge of relational, NoSQL, and graph databases
Familiarity with messaging systems like Kafka or Kinesis
Strong understanding of Linux fundamentals
Experience working with distributed and scalable systems
Experience with cloud‑native technologies
Familiarity with cloud observability tools
Experience with Docker and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to succeed in a highly asynchronous environment
Ability to translate high‑level feature concepts into concrete engineering requirements
Self‑starter who thrives in remote‑friendly environments

Experience working with AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI
Experience developing with modern AI technologies
