Over the course of this immersive, unpaid program (offered for academic credit only), interns will gain meaningful insight into the world of book publishing while contributing to real projects that drive our business forward. You’ll learn alongside experienced professionals, develop practical skills in your area of interest, and participate in opportunities designed to broaden your understanding of the publishing industry. Our goal is to help prepare the next generation of publishing talent while fostering a passion for books, art, and culture.

We’re seeking an enthusiastic and organized individual with a passion for graphic novels, comics, and publishing. The Social Media Intern will work closely with the Director of Publicity & Marketing and the Publicity & Marketing Assistant to support promotional efforts for our graphic novels, manga, and illustrated titles. Responsibilities may include designing social media graphics, filming and editing videos, tracking engagement, compiling influencer media lists, assisting with publicity mailings, and updating marketing and publicity grids. This role offers valuable experience in digital marketing strategy and content creation.

The Social Media Intern will also participate in key meetings and have the opportunity to learn from various members of the publicity and marketing teams through day-to-day collaboration. This is a fantastic opportunity to build practical skills and gain insight into how social media supports the publishing industry.

Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited academic institution. This internship is not open to recent graduates.

What You’d Be Doing

Learning and networking with ABRAMS employees, publishing professionals, and fellow interns during a summer internship experience for academic credit
Gaining hands-on exposure to the publishing industry, from concept to finished product
Supporting research, project work, and day-to-day tasks within your assigned department
Contributing ideas and providing creative input on department projects
Collaborating with cross-functional teams and learning about various areas of the publishing business
Participating in workshops and discussions designed to deepen your understanding of publishing trends and processes
Receiving coaching, mentorship, and feedback from experienced ABRAMS professionals

We’re Looking For Someone Who

Has a passion for graphic novels, comics, and publishing
Passion for social media and digital marketing
Provide technical and creative support to the marketing and publicity team
Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
Be familiar with social media platforms and digital tools such as MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite
Experience in videography and graphic design
Be able to collaborate effectively and also work independently on projects
Be receptive to feedback and able to meet deadlines

Highly Preferred Candidates Also Have

Strong proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)

Internship Details

Compensation: For credit only; must be enrolled in a college program offering internship credit.
Location: New York, NY, and follows a hybrid schedule, working 25 hours per week.
Duration: June 2, 2026 - August 14, 2026
