Welcome to SC Staff and Consult -

2024 and I have set up a consultancy just for PAs in legal including business support PAs - from admin through to management!

You can find some of the latest projects and roles I am working on but I will also be providing information and advise from how to start your employment search to how to develop your career!


With 20 years recruitment experience in recruitment and the last 13 specifically within legal business support, I understand the role of the PA but also as importantly what clients are in need of when they start the recruitment process.

**Job Title:** Event Coordinator **Role Summary:** Coordinate end‑to‑end delivery of high‑profile meetings and events in a corporate headquarters, acting as the primary point of contact for hosts and clients. Ensure seamless in‑person and virtual experiences through meticulous planning, AV setup, and stakeholder collaboration. **Expectations:** - Deliver events with high service quality and technical accuracy. - Manage multiple, shifting priorities in a fast‑paced environment. - Provide proactive client support, including occasional out‑of‑hours and weekend coverage. **Key Responsibilities:** - Coordinate events from initial booking to on‑day execution. - Serve as the main liaison for senior stakeholders, catering, facilities, maintenance, and technology teams. - Set up, test, and troubleshoot AV and presentation equipment. - Configure room layouts and technology requirements. - Greet hosts/clients and ensure a superior experience. - Support business development events, workshops, and internal training sessions. - Manage workloads, deadlines, and competing requests. - Reconcile catering costs and generate basic reports. - Maintain health and safety compliance for all events. **Required Skills:** - Proven experience coordinating corporate events. - Strong knowledge of AV systems, room setups, and presentation technology. - Excellent organizational ability and attention to detail. - Ability to handle multiple requests and last‑minute changes. - Effective communication and relationship‑building skills. - Familiarity with booking systems (e.g., Eptura, Condeco) preferred. - Proactive, client‑focused attitude with a “can‑do” mindset. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Minimum: Secondary education (GCSE/A‑levels or equivalent). - Relevant certifications in event management or facilities services (e.g., CIEE, CMP) are advantageous but not mandatory.

Job Description
Job Title: Legal Personal Assistant Role Summary: Support senior lawyers in a busy international law firm on a 12‑month contract, handling complex diary and inbox management, client liaison, financial administration, document preparation, and coordination of meetings, travel and events. Expactations: Deliver proactive, high‑quality administrative support; demonstrate strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail; act as a reliable right‑hand to busy partners and support internal teams. Key Responsibilities: - Manage complex schedules and email flows for senior lawyers. - Coordinate client meetings, travel arrangements, and on‑site events. - Handle billing, expense reporting, and basic financial administration. - Draft, edit and amend legal documents and correspondence. - Liaise with internal departments (finance, marketing, HR) to support workflow. - Maintain office filing systems and ensure compliance with firm policies. Required Skills: - Proven experience as a Legal PA or Legal Secretary in a law firm. - Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities. - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. - Proficiency with office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, calendar tools). - Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and handle confidential information.
