Job Title: Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Role Summary:
Design, build, and operate scalable cloud infrastructure for a high‑growth product‑led technology firm. Own end‑to‑end responsibility for architecture, CI/CD, observability, security, and compliance, ensuring systems remain highly available, cost‑efficient, and audit‑ready while supporting rapid engineering velocity.
Expectations:
- Operate in a high‑output, no‑token environment with long days and fast decision cycles.
- Collaborate directly with founders and senior leadership.
- Balance short‑term delivery against long‑term reliability and security.
- Accept frequent shifts in priorities and urgent operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and deploy cloud environments (Azure, AWS) using IaC (Terraform).
- Lead and maintain CI/CD pipelines across backend, frontend, and data services.
- Implement logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and on‑call frameworks for observability.
- Optimize cloud spend while preserving performance and resilience.
- Prepare and maintain systems for SOC 2, ISO 27001, and other compliance audits.
- Champion operational excellence and reliability best practices across the team.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, conducting post‑mortems.
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement of infrastructure processes.
Required Skills:
- 4–7 years in infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering.
- Deep experience with Azure (AWS a strong plus).
- Proficient in Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes (AKS).
- Hands‑on CI/CD with GitHub Actions or equivalent.
- Strong observability: logging, metrics, tracing, alerting.
- Expertise in secrets management, security scanning, and best practices.
- Network design: VPCs, private networking, DNS, load balancers, VPN, firewalls.
- Datastore knowledge: PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL, blob storage.
- Automation with Python or Bash scripting.
- Proven track record of reliability, cost optimization, and audit preparation in startup or scale‑up settings.
- Exposure to SOC 2, ISO 27001, or GDPR processes.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Relevant certifications preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Terraform Associate.
