**Job Title**
Data Engineer
**Role Summary**
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data models to enable advanced analytics and business intelligence. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into robust ETL/ELT solutions and API integrations, ensuring data quality, performance, and compliance with industry standards.
**Expectations**
- 7‑8 years of experience in data analysis and engineering, preferably in large enterprises (10 000+ employees).
- Proficiency in Snowflake, DBT, Talend and/or Azure Data Factory, Microsoft SQL Server, and Power BI.
- Strong programming in T‑SQL, Python, JavaScript/Node.js, and Java.
- Demonstrated ability to model relational and dimensional data, develop complex SQL queries, and implement RESTful APIs.
- Experience with real‑time data ingestion, cloud data platforms, and multi‑source integration.
- Commitment to data governance, security, and compliance (GDPR, SOX).
**Key Responsibilities**
- Architect, develop, optimize, and support end‑to‑end ETL/ELT pipelines and data lake flow using Snowflake, DBT, Talend/Azure Data Factory.
- Create and maintain dimensional data models for business intelligence.
- Write, test, and tune complex SQL queries for reporting and analytics.
- Build and expose REST APIs for ingestion from external services (Google, Facebook, Salesforce, SAP).
- Collaborate with development, product, and analytics teams to define requirements, estimate effort, and deliver high‑quality solutions.
- Ensure data pipelines are reliable, scalable, and meet performance SLAs.
- Enforce industry and regulatory standards (GDPR, SOX) in data handling practices.
- Lead technical best‑practice initiatives and mentor teammates.
- Continuously improve analytical processes and internal standards.
**Required Skills**
- Expertise in Snowflake, DBT, Talend and/or Azure Data Factory.
- Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server, T‑SQL, and complex query optimization.
- Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript/Node.js, and Java.
- Data modeling (relational & dimensional), ETL/ELT design, API development (REST).
- Real‑time data ingestion and integration experience.
- Knowledge of Power BI for reporting and visualization.
- Familiarity with GDPR, SOX, and data governance practices.
- Experience in manufacturing, transport, automotive, or aerospace sectors is an asset.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Relevant certifications in data engineering or cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake Certified Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate, etc.) are preferred.
