**Job Title**
Summer Student – Engineering Management Office
**Role Summary**
Support Project Coordinators and Construction Ambassadors by maintaining project schedules, preparing documentation, coordinating stakeholder meetings, and resolving complaints and issues within a public works engineering environment. Gain hands‑on experience in construction project management and communications.
**Expectations**
- Full‑time undergraduate enrollment in Business, Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related discipline.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada as a student and possess a Social Insurance Number.
- Return to academic studies after the term; no prior work experience required.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Maintain project schedules, track milestones, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Draft and distribute meeting notes, action items, progress reports, and other project documentation.
- Coordinate logistics for project meetings and prepare required materials.
- Log and track complaints, issues, and disputes raised by stakeholders or contractors.
- Conduct investigations into complaints, gather information, and prepare summaries or reports.
- Follow up on resolution status and document closure of issues.
- Prepare communications (emails, letters, notices) to stakeholders regarding updates and resolutions.
- Track action items from meetings and ensure timely follow‑up.
- Assist in creating presentations, reports, and other communication tools.
- Develop templates, checklists, and tools to improve issue resolution and coordination efficiency.
- Provide general administrative support: scheduling, email management, filing, and document preparation.
**Required Skills**
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Basic familiarity with project management software.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team‑orientated with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proactive, solution‑oriented, and detail‑driven.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program in Business, Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field.
