Job title
Robotics Engineer
Role Summary
Design, model, and optimize mechatronic and robotic systems for next‑generation diagnostic instruments and automation platforms. Employ model‑based systems engineering (MBSE), MATLAB/Simulink, and advanced simulation tools to develop precision motion, fluidic, and thermal subsystems and integrate sensors, actuators, and motion control into end‑to‑end solutions.
Expectations
- Deliver high‑fidelity system models and simulations that guide concept‑to‑prototype development.
- Translate design requirements into implementable control strategies and motion‑control workflows.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and systems teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Participate actively in design reviews and iterative refinement cycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Build system‑level mechatronics and robotics models using MBSE/MBD methodologies.
- Develop and validate simulations, control algorithms, and design‑optimization workflows.
- Design precision motion, fluidic, and thermal subsystems and integrate sensing, actuation, and robotics technologies.
- Create and maintain detailed design documentation and simulation artefacts.
- Conduct design reviews, provide technical guidance, and support prototype construction.
- Interface with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and systems teams to resolve integration challenges.
Required Skills
- Strong fundamentals in dynamics, controls, sensors/actuators, and signal processing.
- Expertise with MATLAB, Simulink, Simscape, and Stateflow.
- Experience in robotics, mechatronics, and system modeling.
- Familiarity with CAD (Siemens NX and Simcenter Motion preferred).
- Programming proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
- Background in medical devices, robotics, aerospace, automation, or precision systems.
Required Education & Certifications
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Biomedical Engineering, or Engineering Physics (preferred).
- Relevant certifications in control systems or robotics are a plus.
