Job Title: Cloud Solutions / Cloud Architect
Role Summary: Lead and design data centre exit and cloud migration for regulated wealth, asset management and life & pensions clients, ensuring scalable, secure and compliant cloud adoption across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Expactations: Deliver end‑to‑end migration within agreed timelines; maintain regulatory compliance (security, data residency, resilience); produce viable architecture and migration artifacts; orchestrate stakeholder coordination; drive cost and performance optimisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead data centre exit strategy: application discovery, dependency mapping, migration planning.
- Define target‑state cloud architectures (IaaS/PaaS/hybrid) across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Assess cloud readiness: landing zones, networking (VPC/VNet, firewalls, VPN, private connectivity), identity & access (IAM, RBAC, federated identity), security controls, monitoring, logging, backup, DR, high availability, resilience.
- Decide and document migration approaches (re‑host, re‑platform, re‑factor, retire).
- Produce high‑level and low‑level designs, migration roadmaps, architecture decision records.
- Act as technical interface between end client, cloud providers, and internal delivery teams.
- Support transition to BAU operations post‑migration.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience delivering data centre exits and large‑scale cloud migrations in regulated financial services.
- Hands‑on architecture expertise on AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Deep knowledge of networking, IAM, security architecture, high availability, DR, and resilient design.
- Experience with regulatory compliance (security, data residency, resilience).
- Strong documentation, stakeholder management, and outcome‑based delivery.
- Comfort with legacy estate complexity, DevOps/CI‑CD patterns, cloud cost optimisation and FinOps principles.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
- Relevant cloud architecture certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect) are preferred.
