**Job Title:**
Infrastructure Engineer
**Role Summary:**
12‑month fixed‑term contract to resolve escalated technical issues, proactively monitor, and maintain core IT infrastructure. Core responsibilities include managing Windows servers, VMware vSphere environments, SQL databases, Exchange/Microsoft 365 services, backup and disaster recovery, and security patching while ensuring compliance with ISO 27001 standards.
**Expectations:**
- Respond quickly to high‑priority incidents and perform root‑cause analysis.
- Own and finish delegated tasks and projects.
- Collaborate effectively with suppliers, internal teams, and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date documentation, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure continuous availability, security, and compliance of all managed systems.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Administer Windows Server (AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, File Services).
- Manage VMware vSphere (ESXi hosts, vCenter, clusters, resource pools).
- Deploy, configure, and support Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365 services.
- Oversee SQL Server installations, backups, performance tuning, and maintenance.
- Implement and test backup (Veeam) and disaster‑recovery (Zerto) solutions.
- Apply security patches and vulnerability management across the environment.
- Configure networking devices (switches, routers, firewalls, VPN).
- Manage Azure AD, Intune, and Endpoint Manager for device and identity management.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, policy‑control matrices, and ISO 27001 evidence.
**Required Skills:**
- Windows Server administration (2012/2016/2019/2022).
- VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter) expertise.
- Microsoft Exchange/Microsoft 365 administration.
- SQL Server administration.
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, OU design.
- Network fundamentals (switches, routers, firewalls, VPN).
- Azure AD, Intune, Endpoint Manager.
- Backup/DR tools: Veeam, Zerto.
- PowerShell scripting.
- ITIL or comparable framework knowledge.
- Strong customer‑service orientation, communication, and documentation skills.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Preferred certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate; Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator; VMware Certified Professional (VCP); Veeam Certified Engineer.
- Security certifications (CompTIA Security+, CISSP) are a plus.
