Job Specifications

We are seeking a Software Test Engineer to join our onsite team in Los Angeles with a well-established and fast-growing satellite communications and launch company. In this role, you will design, develop, and execute test procedures, automation frameworks, and verification processes across multiple product levels. The focus includes system-on-chip (SoC) calibration algorithm verification, API and software interface testing, hardware/software automation, and system-level validation.

The successful candidate will ensure that the test architecture fully supports integration, verification, and validation for custom user terminals used in advanced satellite and ground communication systems. This includes testing, analyzing, and optimizing test support equipment tailored to satellite or ground-based elements.

Provide software integration and testing for custom user terminal software.
Lead integration and testing of terminal systems in lab and field environments.
Develop automation and test software to support hardware test systems.
Create test algorithms, scripts, automation routines, and calibration processes for verification.
Architect, design, and validate test software for support equipment enabling system verification.
Prepare reports on test results, coverage, performance, and KPIs; communicate issues effectively with engineers and management.

Basic Qualifications

3+ years in integration, test, verification, and validation roles.
2+ years using RF or network test equipment associated with SATCOM communications.
2+ years of software development and test automation experience.
Strong proficiency in Python programming.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of networking protocols and applications (TCP/IP, including L1-L2).
Experience with Linux and RTOS environments.
Background in satellite communication systems development, integration, and commissioning.
Familiarity with analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Grafana.
