Backup Engineer
Location: Sheffield - Fully onsite
Contract: 6 months (initially), Inside IR35
My client a leading Telecoms company is looking for an experienced Backup Engineer to join their team. This role is part of Backup Operations within Cloud Services, supporting client's internal IT infrastructure. It involves managing a large backup estate and providing operational support across the business.
The contract is fully onsite, 6 months initially and is inside IR35
Key Responsibilities
Provide on-call and out-of-hours support.
Maintain and follow operational procedures.
Conduct technical peer reviews to ensure quality and alignment with customer needs.
Perform root cause analysis and resolve technical issues.
Support solution design and development aligned with architecture and security standards.
Contribute to smaller or less complex projects and ensure quality documentation.
Offer technical and analytical support to senior stakeholders.
Essential Technical Skills
Expert-level knowledge of EMC Networker Backup Product.
Understanding of Backup and Recovery principles.
Familiarity with Backup targets such as Data Domain or tape.
Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
Strong problem-solving and performance analysis skills.
