This role is responsible for the development of data delivery solutions that support operational data reporting, including datasets, extracts, reports, and dashboards. This role will be responsible for proactively developing, testing, and maintaining critical data pipelines and architectures across multiple technical environments within various business functions in support of GEICO's operational data reporting. As a member of an agile team, the incumbent assists with testing, validation, user acceptance testing, deployment, and post-implementation support. This includes writing code that builds datasets, metrics, and data needed for our business partners.

Responsibilities

Strong foundation in modern data architecture concepts like, data warehouse, data mart, data lake, data lakehouse, data mesh, etc.
Full life cycle development of automated data delivery processes for reporting and dashboards using ETL/ELT tools such as dbt, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, etc.
Highly proficient in SQL with the ability to write, debug and optimize queries and data pipelines
Migrate existing SAS solutions to technologies used widely at GEICO, such as dbt and Power BI
Work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop and implement data models and architectures to support client projects and initiatives
Perform and automate daily maintenance processes
Assist with data and database migrations, testing, and validation
Adhere to development standards and software change management procedures
Assist with proposing new data strategies and methods to enhance and advance the data environment
Assist with project and time management, including estimates and status reporting
Conduct root cause analysis and advanced performance tuning functions
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed

Qualifications

Bachelors degree preferred
3+ years of relevant work experience
Property & Casualty (P&C) claims data/analytics experience or any P&C insurance industry experience highly preferred
Proficient in Power BI, SQL, SAS, and SSIS
Proficiency with one or more of: Snowflake, dbt, ADO, GitHub, Apache Iceberg, Apache Superset is preferred.
Stakeholder management skills
Strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are required
Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed
Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment
Must be able to multi-task

Location: This position is a hybrid role. It is required to be on-site 3 days per week at one of the following office locations: Chevy Chase, MD, Chicago, IL, New York, NY.

Annual Salary

$77,900.00 - $129,150.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
