Job Specifications

We are looking for a Window System Application Administrator / Windows Platform Specialist for a 6 months contract with high possibility of extension. Role is hybrid with 3 days a week on site in Downtown Toronto.

Core Responsibilities

Application Maintenance: Support and oversee the day-to-day functionality of critical business applications on Windows platforms, ensuring they remain responsive and current.
Upgrade Planning: Organize and carry out application upgrades with a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
Backup Procedures: Conduct and validate backups of application data and settings ahead of major updates or system changes.
Patch Management: Deploy application patches and updates, aligning with internal or vendor release notes to maintain reliability and compliance.
System Monitoring: Perform routine checks to assess application health, performance, and uptime.
Documentation: Keep thorough records of application configurations, updates, and support processes.
Security Coordination: Work with cybersecurity teams to help meet internal compliance standards and implement secure practices.
Performance Tuning: Investigate and resolve issues affecting application speed or availability to enhance user experience.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience managing and supporting Windows-based applications in a professional environment.
Solid understanding of application lifecycle management, including patching, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery practices for application data.
Strong analytical thinking and clear communication skills, especially in documentation.
Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
