Lorien Global is partnering with a fast-growing tech business in Manchester that's on a mission to modernise its infrastructure and scale its platform engineering capabilities. With a hybrid setup across AWS and on-prem VMware, they're laying the groundwork for high-performance microservices delivery-and you could be at the heart of it.

The Role:
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and automating resilient infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments. You'll work hands-on with technologies like .NET, RabbitMQ, WebAPI, WCF, MySQL, and MongoDB, while deploying infrastructure using IaC and Kubernetes.

This is a collaborative, high-impact role where you'll work closely with Engineering, Architecture, Security, and DevOps teams. You'll help shape reusable platform stacks, streamline deployment processes, and champion DevOps culture and cloud-native best practices.

What You'll Be Doing:

Architect and deploy scalable infrastructure using Terraform/Ansible
Build reusable platform stacks across Kubernetes, Docker, and VMs
Integrate CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows for seamless delivery
Drive automation and reduce complexity across internal tooling
Support cloud governance, security hardening, and operational readiness
Create and maintain SOPs for internal and external delivery teams
Troubleshoot across cloud, infra, and application layers

What You'll Bring:

Strong experience in platform/infrastructure engineering (Linux & Windows)
Hands-on with IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible
Proven experience with Kubernetes and Docker in production
Solid AWS knowledge (EC2, S3, IAM, VPCs, networking)
Bonus: Familiarity with VMware stack (vSphere, NSX, VCF)
Excellent scripting and automation skills
Strong understanding of cloud security and compliance
Great communicator and team player in fast-paced environments
