We are seeking a UAT Test Lead to join a leading U.S.-based commercial banking organization undergoing a major Human Capital Management transformation. This role will be responsible for defining and executing the user acceptance testing strategy in coordination with business and IT stakeholders, ensuring seamless deployment of a next-generation HCM solution. Responsibilities
Partner with the centralized QA Lead and program stakeholders to define UAT scope, objectives, strategy, and success criteria.
Collaborate with IT QA teams to validate user stories, acceptance criteria, and test cases.
Coordinate, train, and guide business users participating in UAT, ensuring proper access and readiness.
Drive the creation of test plans, test scripts, and test data - both manual and automated - aligned with project requirements.
Oversee UAT test execution and defect management, ensuring test cases are completed accurately and blockers are escalated and resolved.
In coordination with the IT QA Lead, escalate critical defects or blockers and collaborate with IT/technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve them.
Coordinate UAT training and documentation for testers and stakeholders.
Provide regular progress reports of test cases, testing cycle, and help prioritize issue resolution, risk assessments, and readiness updates to project leadership.
Function as a trusted advisor to the business, helping frame UAT strategy, identify resource needs, and ensure successful deployment readiness. Qualifications
BA or BS in math, science, finance, or business-related field.
10+ years of experience in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including creating automated testing and manual testing, business analysis, and software quality assurance.
10+ years' experience with software quality assurance best practices, such as debugging, security analysis, including the development life cycle and project management processes.
2 years of experience working as a UAT Test Lead, driving strategy and helping an organization frame what they need in terms of a plan, identifying the players for testing, helping train them, in addition to writing test plans and cases, and executing the test plans/cases.
2+ years of project experience in HR, HRIS, or Human Capital Management system implementations.
Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), project management methodologies, and QA best practices.
Experience with both manual and automated testing, including test case creation and execution.
Deep knowledge of SQA practices such as debugging, defect tracking, and test documentation. Skills and Job-Specific Competencies
Experience with Workday, UKG, or other HCM systems is strongly preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio).
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across global and cross-functional teams.
Experience coordinating with teams across multiple time zones, including domestic and offshore stakeholders.
Highly adaptable, proactive, and capable of identifying issues before deployment. Travel
This role requires one domestic trip to the East Coast in April (first week). Otherwise, minimal travel is required. Physical Requirements
