Accounts Payable Specialist (9-Month Contract)

Location: Etobicoke, (2-3 days a week onsite)

Our client, a fast-growing leader in the e-commerce space, is looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their dynamic finance team on a 9-month contract. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of the accounts payable function across multiple entities. You'll ensure invoices are processed and payments are made on time, all while maintaining strong vendor relationships and contributing to reliable financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle accounts payable activities using modern accounting and finance systems
Process invoices and payments across multiple entities and vendor accounts
Verify purchase orders, contract terms, and pricing to validate invoices
Identify and implement process improvements to streamline AP workflows
Perform regular account reconciliations and maintain accurate AP records
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures related to accounts payable
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues

What You Bring

Demonstrated experience in accounts payable, ideally in a high-volume environment
Strong understanding of AP processes, tax regulations, and vendor management best practices
Hands-on experience with accounting systems and AP automation tools (experience with Coupa is a plus)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general financial software
Excellent attention to detail, with strong organizational and time-management skills
Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
