About the Opportunity
Our client is undergoing a major strategic initiative to launch a new Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) and is seeking a Real Estate Finance Consultant to help finalize the financial and accounting foundations needed for IPO readiness. Reporting directly into senior finance leadership, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment where they can build structures from the ground up. You will act as the key accounting expert responsible for shaping the REIT’s IFRS reporting framework, standing up the finance environment in Oracle, and collaborating closely with tax, legal, audit, and banking partners. This is a unique contract opportunity to contribute to a high-impact project within a large, publicly traded organization as it executes a major growth initiative.
Key Responsibilities
Set up a new legal entity within Oracle, ensuring proper configuration for a REIT structure
Design and implement the Chart of Accounts and related accounting architecture
Define entries and posting logic for monthly close activities, including fees, JEs, and GL mappings
Lead monthly close processes: P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow
Prepare financial disclosures, working papers, reconciliations, and IFRS-compliant reporting
Support tax-related deliverables including schedules, new filings, and commodity tax registrations
Assist with establishing new banking arrangements required for the REIT
Collaborate with internal teams across finance, legal, tax, and external advisors (consultants, auditors, bankers)
Coordinate inputs and outputs from Big 4 and other advisory firms supporting the IPO
What We’re Looking For
CPA designation (or equivalent) strongly preferred.
5+ years proven experience setting up and supporting REIT finance and accounting structures
Strong working knowledge of IFRS, particularly related to REIT reporting and disclosure requirements
Hands-on Oracle expertise, including entity setup, chart of accounts configuration, and reporting structures
Ability to manage full-cycle monthly close and prepare IFRS-compliant financial statements
Comfort working in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines and multiple stakeholder groups
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with legal, tax, audit, and banking partners

We do appreciate all interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
