Job Specifications
Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a Product Owner Consultant // Business Analyst for a 12-month contract (with high potential for extension). This is a hybrid position based at 81 Bay Street (30th Floor), downtown Toronto, with in-office work required on Thursdays.
Responsibilities
• Lead product vision, strategy, and backlog management to support key business initiatives within the Corporate Security, Chief Security Office (CSO).
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and refine business requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
• Support sprint planning and execution by translating requirements into actionable user stories.
• Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and manual testing, document test results, and ensure timely defect resolution.
• Maintain QA documentation such as test scripts, results, and process flows.
• Define regression test sets, track testing progress, and report findings.
• Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities for process improvement, and risk mitigation.
• Prepare and present test results, defect summaries, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Utilize project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project) to track progress, manage deliverables, and ensure alignment with Agile methodologies.
• Partner cross-functionally with business leaders, technical teams, QA analysts, and project managers to support delivery of Corporate Security initiatives.
Must-Have Skills
Quality Assurance (QA):
• Experience maintaining QA documentation such as test scripts, results, and process flows.
• Ability to define regression test sets and accurately document defects.
Business Analysis (BA):
• Strong experience preparing detailed business requirements documentation and process flows.
• Advanced data analysis skills to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Proven ability to present test results, defect summaries, and actionable insights to stakeholders.
Project Management:
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in project management with familiarity using Jira and MS Project.
• Strong understanding of Agile principles and the product development lifecycle.
Nice-to-Have Skills
• Previous experience in financial services or banking.
• Business process modelling expertise.
• Corporate Security experience or exposure to risk/governance environments.
