PE Global is currently recruiting for a Supplier Development Engineer for a leading multi-national manufacturer of construction and mining equipment client based in Peterlee.

This is an initial 12 months contract position working on site 5 days a week.

Pay rate is £27.26ph PAYE or £36.84ph Umbrella.

Duties of the role/Responsibilities

Ensuring the quality of supplies by conducting tests and assessments on incoming supplies to identify any quality issues; Developing supplier inspection, testing, and evaluation mechanism.
Generating reports on supplier quality, by monitoring their defect rates and areas that can lead to potential flaws; Guiding suppliers to reduce these defect rates.
Researching the potential vendors, assessing their manufacturing environment, practices, and procedures; Conducting supplier quality control audits to ensure compliance with organizational and federal policies and standards.
Supporting suppliers in improving their performance through process enhancements, implementing process controls, and developing quality assurance plans.

Education/Experience

Degree with 5+ years experience or relevant experience 10+ years
PPAP skills
APQP skill
Quality skills i.e. to be able to determine route cause and implement action
Experience with Microsoft office, Power BI, Teamcenter.
Ability to develop strong relationships
Ability to improve supplier performance to achieve SER certification
Ability to travel 50% to suppliers for ongoing development and improvement
Can react quickly to solve problems and communicate progress
