Project Manager - Global Events

Overall Purpose of the Role

We are seeking an experienced and versatile Project Manager to take ownership of the internal coordination and project management around the delivery of a series of major CNN events. This role is hands-on and execution-driven, ensuring that all aspects of the event are coordinated and delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. The successful candidate will coordinate multiple internal workstreams, manage operational details, and maintain strong communication with stakeholders throughout the delivery process.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the overall project management around the end-to-end delivery of a series of global events, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
Support the delivery of day-to-day project operations, including vendor coordination.
Run regular status calls with internal and external stakeholders to provide clear updates on progress, risks, and next steps.
Prepare concise executive summaries and delivery reports for senior leadership.
Ensure all deliverables meet agreed specifications and contractual obligations.
Proactively identify and resolve delivery issues, escalating where necessary to maintain momentum.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution across all event components.
Maintain rigorous documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential Experience & Skills

Proven experience (5+ years) in delivering large-scale, complex projects or events, preferably on a global level.
Strong track record of managing operational details and driving projects to completion.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
Clear and confident communication skills for stakeholder updates and executive reporting.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
Experience managing budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships effectively.

Desirable

Experience in event delivery within the media, creative, or corporate sectors.
Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Workfront, MS Project).
Previous experience working in a global or matrixed organization.
