About Pulley
Pulley's mission is to make it easier for anyone to start a company. We believe more founders should exist — and they should spend their time building, not managing the complexity of equity. Pulley helps founders understand, operate, and optimize their ownership from day one.
We're a high-performing team looking for passionate, execution-focused, self-starters to help us build the next generation of equity and business management tools for founders in an AI-native world. Pulley is growing quickly with over 4,000 customers including startups like Linear, Runway, Fathom, and Roam.
Our trajectory is fueled by top investors like Founders' Fund, Stripe, General Catalyst, Caffeinated Capital, 8vc, Elad Gil, among other great angels. All of our growth has been organic, and we're growing the team to meet the demand.
About the Role
Pulley is looking for a Senior Director of Finance to be the financial and analytical engine behind our most important decisions. You will own Strategic Finance, FP&A, and Accounting. You will partner directly with the co-founders on planning, capital allocation, board and investor communications, and the financial infrastructure required to scale into category leadership.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a role where your work immediately translates into company direction. You will build the operating models that guide resource allocation, define our path to profitability, and strengthen our command of the business. Your insights will influence product strategy, GTM investments, pricing, hiring, M&A, and long-term strategic planning.
We are open to VP-level candidates for exceptional profiles.
What You'll Lead
Strategic Finance
Build and evolve Pulley's long-term financial model.
Develop the frameworks that support prioritization, pricing strategy, and market expansion.
Partner directly with co-founders on strategic decisions and investor communications.
FP&A
Own forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis across the company.
Translate financial insights into operational recommendations for Product, Engineering, GTM, and Operations.
Define and maintain Pulley's core metrics: SaaS performance, resource efficiency, and unit economics.
Accounting
Oversee accounting quality and close cadence through partnership with the accounting manager and internal team.
Ensure audit readiness, compliance, and scalable processes that can support future growth.
Build systems hygiene and accuracy that strengthens confidence in financial data.
Capital Strategy and Transactions
Evaluate strategic transactions including M&A and partnerships.
Lead financial diligence, modeling, and integration planning.
Prepare materials for board meetings, fundraising, and strategic conversations.
Cross-functional Leadership
Serve as a thought partner to executives across the business.
Collaborate on build vs buy analysis and roadmap resourcing.
Lead cross-functional strategic projects that require clarity, analytical depth, and operational follow-through.
What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months
Pulley's long-term model is rebuilt to support clearer decision-making and scenario planning.
Quarterly and annual planning are running with consistency and accuracy.
Pulley's operating metrics, unit economics, and growth levers are understood and actionable.
Accounting and FP&A processes are reliable, predictable, and audit ready.
Leadership has materially improved clarity on cost structure, resource allocation, and path to profitability.
Board materials and investor communications are elevated in quality and strategic depth.
Strategic priorities have financial frameworks around them that guide real tradeoffs.
What You Bring
8+ years of experience in B2B SaaS with a background in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, or a high-caliber Strategic Finance role.
Mastery in financial modeling, valuation, unit economics, and scenario analysis.
A strong command of SaaS metrics including CAC payback, LTV to CAC, Magic Number, NRR, and cohort behavior.
Experience owning FP&A, strategic finance, and partnering closely with accounting teams.
Ability to move seamlessly between operating detail and long-term strategy.
Proven track record of leading ambiguous, multi-stakeholder initiatives that deliver impact.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to synthesize complexity and influence senior leaders.
A builder's mindset. Comfort working in a fast-paced, founder-led environment where you operate with autonomy and ownership.
Judgment that extends beyond the numbers. You understand how financial decisions influence product, teams, and long-term value creation.
