Job Description

We are seeking a Junior Software Developer – Power Apps Developer to provide full-time on-site support at Curtis Bay, MD. This entry-level position focuses on developing and maintaining applications using the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI. The ideal candidate will bring a foundational understanding of application development, experience working directly with end users, and the ability to support the migration of legacy systems into modern, low-code solutions.

Compensation & Benefits

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Junior Software Developer-Power Apps Developer: Pay commensurate with experience.

Junior Power Apps Developer Responsibilities Include

Design, develop, and maintain custom applications using Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI
Write code using Power Fx and JavaScript for low-code business solutions
Assist in migrating legacy applications to the Power Platform
Meet with users and stakeholders to gather requirements and document application needs
Troubleshoot and resolve issues, analyze data, and implement effective solutions
Test applications under development and write detailed test scripts for users
Create and maintain detailed technical documentation including:
ERDs, Data Dictionaries, Admin/Help Guides, Application Descriptions, and Installation Instructions
Ensure all applications follow Coast Guard security standards and governance policies
Support end users during testing, gather feedback, and implement required changes
Respond to and complete assigned BOD service requests using the Service Requests Application

Junior Power Apps Developer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities Requested

Minimum 1 year of experience in web, database, and application development
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
Proficiency in Power Fx and JavaScript
Strong communication skills; able to interact with all levels of personnel
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues and resolve problems independently
Must be able to obtain a favorable fingerprint check and Tier 1 background investigation for a DoD CAC
Must comply with Coast Guard contractor personnel background checks, access standards, and NDAs
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
