Business Development Manager
Workingman Capital is an established industrial auction firm specializing in the sale of manufacturing assets when factories downsize or close. We are a boutique firm that conducts big business with Fortune 500 companies, individual owners and professional services firms.
As a growing firm with a strong industry reputation, we are looking for a motivated Business Development Manager who is eager to learn, build relationships, and help expand our pipeline of opportunities across Canada and the U.S.

Role Overview
The Business Development Manager identifies new opportunities, nurtures prospects, and moves leads toward the inspection stage. The role involves consistent outreach, relationship management, and accurate CRM documentation. This position reports directly to the President.
Role Responsibilities
· Monitor industry news and trends (closures, equipment sales, consolidations, insolvency events)
· Reach out to prospective clients by phone, email, and digital channels
· Build and maintain long-term industry relationships
· Manage and follow up on the existing sales pipeline
· Qualify and nurture leads through the inspection process
· Maintain accurate CRM and database records
· Support general BD initiatives and projects as needed
Qualifications
• Previous business development experience is an asset but not required
• Strong communication skills (phone, email, digital outreach)
• Comfortable with outreach, including cold calling
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to learn new processes quickly and follow clear procedures
• Experience with CRM systems is helpful but not required
• French is an asset
• Self-motivated and able to work independently once trained

Work Environment
• Located in mid-town Toronto
• In-office role, Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm

Compensation
Starting salary is $60,000 – commensurate with experience
