Job Specifications

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Purview Consultant for an outcome-focused engagement. This role is responsible for configuring and onboarding a defined data domain into Microsoft Purview, including metadata, lineage, and governance controls.
This is a delivery-led assignment, focused on enabling a directorate to adopt Purview for a single data domain. The scope is limited to initial onboarding and governance configuration (not BAU support or enterprise rollout).
Key Responsibilities
Configure Microsoft Purview domains and collections for a defined business area
Onboard agreed data assets into Purview, including metadata enrichment, classification, and lineage mapping
Configure governance artefacts such as glossary terms, sensitivity labels, scan policies, and data quality rules
Implement reporting within Purview to surface governance KPIs, data quality metrics, and usage insights
Produce configuration documentation and operational playbooks to support handover
Essential Skills & Experience
Hands-on Microsoft Purview implementation experience
Strong understanding of data governance principles and compliance requirements
Experience working in regulated or public-sector environments
Ability to deliver structured outputs to agreed milestones
