Chief Architect (Contract) for a client in Chicago, IL/Richardson, TX.
Rate Range: $53/hour to $68/hour. Responsibilities
Design, develop, and lead microservices using Spring Boot and Core Java, ensuring scalable, secure, and cloud-ready architectures.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment to Azure; enforce DevOps best practices.
Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB), including data migration to PostgreSQL.
Architect and implement cloud solutions on Azure, leveraging containers and cloud services; ensure reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
Drive standards and best practices (design patterns, authentication/authorization, secure coding) and conduct code reviews and technical mentorship.
Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical designs; lead Agile ceremonies and guide delivery. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field (Master's preferred).
10+ years in IT, including 8+ years in Core Java, 6+ years with Spring Boot & microservices, and experience leading Java teams.
Proven hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure (cloud deployment, containerization, CI/CD pipelines) and RESTful API design.
Strong experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB), authentication/authorization, and DevOps/CICD best practices; Kafka/event-driven design is a plus (PBM domain knowledge preferred).

Pay Details: $53.00 to $68.00 per hour.
