Intern to Chief Digital & Technology Officer
Hybrid – London, SW1E 5JL
Full Time, 9 Months Fixed Term Contract
Band 5 / £30,000-£35,000
A rare, high-exposure opportunity to learn from the top, contribute to real digital strategy, and shape your future career.
We’re looking for a standout individual to join us as Intern to the Group Chief Digital & Technology Officer (CDTO). This is a high-profile, hands-on role offering exceptional insight into how a major organisation sets and delivers its digital and technology strategy at the executive level.
But here’s the most important part: It’s all about character and attitude. We want someone enthusiastic, curious, proactive, and eager to learn - someone who wants to make the absolute most of this opportunity. You don’t need a traditional background. In fact, we actively encourage applicants from diverse, non-traditional pathways who are passionate about government affairs, digital trends, the future of technology, and how organisations evolve.
If you're articulate, credible, excited about business and digital strategy - and keen to get exposure to how big decisions get made - this could be the internship that propels your career.
As Part Of This You’ll
Support at Executive Level: Work directly with the CDTO - preparing briefings, presentations, and documentation; coordinating meetings and actions; managing information flows; and handling sensitive material with professionalism and good judgement.
Contribute to Digital & Technology Initiatives: Take ownership of small work packages, research emerging digital and technology trends, track project progress, and produce clear insights and summaries to support leadership decision-making.
Engage Stakeholders & Communicate Effectively: Represent the CDTO’s office confidently, build relationships across the organisation, and communicate clearly, asking thoughtful questions and adapting your style to the audience.
Learn, Grow & Explore: Seek exposure across multiple technology domains, observe how digital leadership operates in a complex organisation, take on new challenges, and use feedback to grow.
Demonstrate Professionalism & Adaptability: Stay organised, reliable and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment, showing initiative and contributing positively to team culture.
What You’ll Need To Do The Role
We’re looking for someone with curiosity, drive, and a great attitude. You should be excited by digital, technology, strategy, government affairs, and the future of how organisations work.
Key Strengths We Value
Analytical thinking and the ability to grasp complex concepts quickly
Clear communication - both written and verbal
Professional maturity - discretion, confidence, emotional intelligence
Strong organisation - able to juggle tasks, manage time, and deliver reliably
A learning mindset - curious, proactive, and eager to explore new domains
If you’re articulate, credible, and ready to learn at pace, you’ll thrive here.
