Key Responsibilities

As a director, Workdays expert, you will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity and maximizing the potential of our Workday application. Your core responsibilities will include:

Stakeholder Management & Prioritization: Act as a key functional and technical liaison, prioritizing competing business demands from various internal stakeholders (HR, Finance, IT). Manage stakeholder expectations effectively by providing clear, timely updates on development progress, risks, and release schedules.
Platform Optimization & Governance: Conduct a comprehensive review of the existing Workday configuration to identify areas for improvement. Devise and implement an improvement plan to ensure all technical development practices, integrations, and ongoing configurations strictly adhere to Workday's best practices and internal governance standards.
Functional and Technical Project Leadership: Oversee the end-to-end development and deployment of all transformational project work related to Workday enhancements, new module implementations, and complex integration development. This includes design, build, test, and release to production.
CI/CD Leadership: Provide leadership and technical guidance to a development team operating within a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) setting, ensuring fast, reliable, and automated delivery pipelines for Workday changes.
Mentorship & Quality Assurance: Mentor junior and mid-level developers, conduct code and configuration reviews, and ensure the highest quality of technical output.
Design and maintain a prioritised Workday roadmap, balancing immediate support needs with longer-term enhancements.
Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory requirements.
Drive the post-go-live optimisation of processes, configurations, and reporting to improve efficiency and user adoption.
Configuration, testing, Config management and maintenance of the Workday Platform
Ensure platforms align with the company’s strategy and deliver measurable value to employees.
Partner with IT and vendors to maintain a robust, scalable, and secure architecture.
Maintain documentation, change management processes, and audit readiness.
Monitor platform performance and user feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
Stay current with Workday releases and industry trends to recommend innovations.

Required Skills & Experience

8-10 years of professional experience in Workday implementation, with a significant focus (at least 5 years) as a Workday Developer/Technologist, preferably within the FinTech but not mandatory.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a history of successfully managing competing priorities and influencing/managing expectations with senior business and technical stakeholders.
Demonstrable experience leading and delivering significant Workday enhancement projects (e.g., global rollouts, major module implementations).
Strong understanding of Financial, HR processes and the employee lifecycle.
Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
Strong track record in release management, post-go-live stabilisation, and roadmap delivery.
Deep, demonstrable expertise across the Workday platform, including but not limited to: Workday Studio, EIBs, Report Writer, BIRT, Calculated Fields, Web Services, and security configuration.
Proven track record of reviewing and optimizing complex Workday configurations to improve performance, maintainability, and security.
Expertise in leading a Project delivery life cycle with key individuals within a modern framework and demonstrable experience of leading a team in a Continuous Integration and Continuous delivery setting for Workday deployments.
Experience managing and optimising third-party integrations (e.g payroll, benefits providers).
Certifications that demonstrate excellence in management and configuration of Workday.
Experience with other enterprise cloud platforms (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite, ServiceNow).
