Job Title: External Communications Associate

Client Location: London - Hybrid 3 Days Onsite

Starting: ASAP

Pay: £35.58 p/h PAYE (74K p/a)

Hours: Full-time

Duration: 3+ month contract

Job Description:

We are looking for an External Communications Associate to support and deliver impactful external communications across media, public relations and reputation management.

In this role, you will develop clear, compelling communications that promote programmes, events and strategic initiatives to external audiences. You will work across media relations, stakeholder engagement and agency collaboration, applying strong judgement, commercial awareness and strategic communications expertise.

The candidate will participate in an incident management rotation. This involves being "on-call" approximately every 3 to 4 weeks to manage urgent escalations and platform incidents.

What You’ll Do

Respond to media and editorial enquiries, drafting accurate and timely content.
Track and evaluate communications campaigns, using insights to improve strategy and execution.
Create high-quality communications materials including press releases, pitches, marketing copy, announcements, presentations, articles and social media content.
Support reputation management by aligning communications with corporate, public affairs and business objectives.
Act as a spokesperson for specific business or product areas when required.
Collaborate with external agencies to deliver communications projects and key workstreams.
Design presentations, visuals and communications materials for events and campaigns.
Participate in an on-call incident management rotation to support urgent escalations.

What We’re Looking For

Experience in external communications, media relations or public relations.
Strong strategic communications and crisis communications skills.
Ability to synthesise complex information into clear, audience-focused messaging.
Understanding of the external media and stakeholder landscape.
Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
Commercial awareness and business acumen.
Adaptable, agile and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Fluent in English

Nice to Have

Additional language skills: Spanish, Portuguese, German or French
Experience working with agencies
Experience supporting senior or executive stakeholders
