Due to the urgent nature of this role, candidates must have current and transferrable SC security clearance.

This long-term appointment is a complement to the existing 45 strong team that provides support to a fully integrated command and control system for the MoD.

This exciting systems & software programme covers many disciplines including design, development, installation, implementation, integration, acceptance, training and logistics support - it is run solely from our clients Christchurch site for delivery to their customer at various MoD locations.

The candidate must hold a minimum of SC clearance without caveats (sole UK National) and an ability to attain DV clearance in due course.

To fulfil this practical and 'hands on' role, it would be beneficial for the candidate to be qualified to diploma or degree level in an engineering discipline, or equivalent in experience.

Core Duties
- Typical duties include (but are not limited to):
- The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks suitable to the internal level of this role.
The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following:
- The candidate should have an existing, proven knowledge of the following:
- The systems development life cycle, from design through to test
- The development processes (eg requirements, design, specification, implementation, acceptance testing), and development tools

The candidate should also be able to demonstrate:
- A team working culture
- Innovation and problem-solving skills, with a holistic view to implementation
- Interpersonal and communication skills. In particular, the candidate will show the confidence to liaise with customer and user representatives to discuss systems technical issues.
- Awareness of Risk Management

Additional Information
- The development processes (eg requirements, design, specification, implementation, acceptance testing), and development tools
- The design and implementation of database tables
- Implementation of database packages using the Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Database design and modelling
- Performance monitoring and enhancement of an Oracle database
- Database administration
- Monitoring the Oracle website for updates and engaging with Oracle to request patches
- Horizon scanning for vulnerabilities
- Configuring Windows/Linux/RHEL operating systems
- Creating bespoke applications and automated deployment using PowerShell
