SC/DV Cloud Engineer | National Security | AWS | DevOps | Contract
SR2 is supporting a consultancy partner delivering cloud-native platforms into the national security space. This role will suit a hands-on SC or DV Cleared Cloud Engineer with strong DevOps fundamentals, capable of operating in highly secure, regulated environments, and comfortable automating at scale using open-source tooling.

You'll be Embedded within a multidisciplinary Agile team, focusing on automating infrastructure and delivery pipelines while embedding security best practices throughout the life cycle.

The Role
You'll work on the design, build, and automation of cloud infrastructure and delivery pipelines supporting highly scalable, security-critical systems. The focus is on infrastructure-as-code, containerised platforms, and CI/CD automation within AWS, while collaborating closely with engineers, security specialists, and delivery stakeholders.Key Responsibilities
Automate application and infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment in secure cloud environments
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable, repeatable software delivery
Support containerised platforms using Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes
Embed security controls and best practices into infrastructure and delivery workflows
Operate as part of an Agile/Scrum team, contributing to continuous improvement
Work collaboratively with cross-functional and customer-facing teamsEssential
Strong experience working as a Cloud or DevOps Engineer in AWS environments
Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation
Containerisation and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes
CI/CD automation experience (DroneCI or similar tooling)
Strong Git experience (GitHub, GitLab, etc.)
Advanced Linux administration and Scripting (Bash or similar)
Configuration management using Ansible
Solid understanding of security best practices and experience automating them
SC or ideally DV ClearanceDesirable

Experience with Amazon ECS
Exposure to AWS developer tooling such as CodePipeline and CodeBuild
Experience delivering into highly regulated or secure environmentsThe Details
Contract role - 6 months + extensions
IR35 status: Inside IR35
Location: UK-based, remote with potential onsite requirements depending on clearance
Rate: £500-£550
