Job Title: Network Security Analyst

Work Location: Onsite - Austin, TX 78751

Local candidates only. Must reside in Texas within a 50-mile radius.

Contract Term: 6+ months

Role Overview

Network Security Analyst 1 to support ongoing cybersecurity operations. The analyst will be responsible for securing information systems and networks, identifying and mitigating security risks, supporting security tools, and producing clear technical and project documentation. The role requires frequent interaction with internal and external stakeholders and hands-on involvement in cybersecurity controls and risk reduction efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and secure information systems and computer networks against cyber threats.
Install, administer, troubleshoot, and patch security software and hardware tools.
Review and evaluate existing cybersecurity tools and controls to identify show gaps.
Provide actionable recommendations and implement risk reduction plans.
Investigate security incidents and support remediation efforts.
Develop, update, and maintain network security documentation.
Prepare and present project plans, status reports, briefings, and presentations.
Support short-term cybersecurity initiatives with basic project management activities.
Conduct research, interviews, meetings, and workshops to understand organizational needs.
Collaborate extensively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex security issues.
Edit and maintain technical documentation for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
Produce progress reports and briefing materials as required.

Required Skills and Experience

3 years of experience evaluating cybersecurity tools and controls and implementing risk mitigation.
3 years of experience preparing project documentation, reports, and stakeholder communications.
3 years of experience analyzing organizational processes and identifying improvement opportunities.
3 years of experience working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve security gaps.
3 years of experience performing basic project management functions.
3 years of experience editing and maintaining technical documentation.

Preferred Skills and Experience

5 years of experience evaluating cybersecurity tools and controls.
5 years of experience preparing and presenting security-related documentation.
5 years of experience conducting organizational analysis through research and workshops.
5 years of experience resolving complex cybersecurity issues with multiple stakeholders.
5 years of experience supporting project management and documentation governance.
