Job Description:
On behalf of our client, Affinity is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for a 3-month contract engagement to support a series of strategic, AI-adjacent initiatives within an Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) environment.
Responsibilities:
Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements within an AEC project-based delivery environment
Develop current-state and future-state workflows for architecture, engineering, and construction processes, including process mapping and gap analysis
Produce BRDs, use cases, success metrics, and non-functional requirements tailored to AEC systems and stakeholders
Support business case development tied to margin, utilization, WIP, write-offs, and project cycle time
Translate AEC operational needs into clear requirements for automation, AI-enabled solutions, data platforms, and document intelligence
Create high-quality, executive-ready deliverables to support prioritization and downstream delivery
Collaborate with Project Managers, Discipline Leads, Principals, and operational leadership
Facilitate structured workshops and discussions to drive clarity, alignment, and decision-making
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with direct experience in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction
Demonstrated experience working in project-based delivery environments and capital projects / consulting revenue models
Strong understanding of:
BIM, CAD, and Revit concepts
Design and construction drawings, specifications, and IFCs
Utilization, WIP, write-offs, and project financial controls
Proven ability to engage effectively with PMs, Discipline Leads, and Principals
Experience developing business cases and requirements tied to financial performance and operational efficiency
Exceptional requirements-gathering, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
Comfortable operating in early-stage, ambiguous initiatives and creating structure quickly
